We built Seva for the people who raised us

At the centre of every Indian family is somebody holding it together from a distance. Booking the appointment between meetings. Asking on WhatsApp whether the tablet was taken. Flying back when a report says something nobody can quite read. The work is constant, invisible, and almost always carried alone.

We are building the layer that carries part of that weight. One thread for the medicines, the vitals, the reports and the people involved, and an honest, plain language answer when you have ten seconds to know whether your parent is alright. We have lived this with our own families. We would like it to be easier for yours.

A note from our founder
“India has millions of families becoming geographically distributed without becoming emotionally disconnected.”

Technology has made it easier to send money home, order things for our parents and call them every day. But it still hasn’t solved how we stay meaningfully present in their lives from another city or country. That is the problem SEVA is building around.

Seva is the Sanskrit word for service given without expecting anything back. It is what a family already does for its elders, every single day, without calling it anything at all. We did not want a name that sounded like software. We wanted the word our grandparents would recognise.

Apno Ki SEVA — Care for our own.
